Located on the South end of the Great Salt Lake, here's where the Mormons
trekked west in 1874. The small area population grew rapidly aided by folks
heading to the California gold rush communities. Today, people revel in the
area's abundant outdoor recreation pursuits including skiing, hiking, and
biking. The city is enjoyed by both Mormons and non-Mormons alike and
includes a variety of attractions including Temple Square, Trolley Square,
Salt Lake Art Museum, Hansen Planetarium, and Utah Museum of Natural
History, among many.
