    Ocala was surveyed for a town in 1846, and then founded on 1868. Today you can find Florida's oldest attraction and the world's largest formation of clear artesian springs at Silver Springs. The springs offer a Jeep Safari ride, a glass-bottom-boat ride, and a Jungle Cruise ride. Attractions include The Appleton Museum of Art, the Don Garlits' Museum of Drag Racing, displaying over 100 antique cars, and the E-One Factory Tours, showing where fire trucks are manufactured. Other things to do are tours of the horse farms and Silver Springs Wild Waters offering a wave pool.

     Silver Springs is the world's largest formation of clear artesian springs in the world. Silver Springs is a 350 acre nature theme park which offers the world famous Glass Bottom Boats, river cruises, jeep safari, Aligator exhibit and live animal shows.
