With over 300 years of history, Mobile is one of America's oldest port cities.
Six flags have flown over the city and influences from all who have settled in
Mobile are evident in the cusine, architecture, and culture. Mobile is
considered the home of the Mardi Gras in the United States. Originally brought
from France in 1704, Mobile celebrates it's major event two weeks prior to
Lent. In addition to the Mardi Gras, Mobile's events include the only NFL
sanctioned post-season football games, America's Junior Miss competition, and
BayFest brings music to the streets during October.
