wide variety of cultural attractions and recreational opportunities.
Affectionately known as "Cowtown, USA," the area was once a part of major
cattle drives and today highlights that part of its history at the Fort Worth
Stockyards National Historic District. Fort Worth is home to numerous cultural
attractions and several institutions of higher learning. Fort Worth events
include: Southwestern Exposition Stock Show and Rodeo, The Last Great
Gunfight, Chisholm Trail Roundup, Juneteenth Heritage & Jazz Festival, Pioneer
Days, and Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering.
